Questions that are specific to your situation are usually better answered in a conversation than on a page. You are welcome to ask before committing to anything.
What is hypnotherapy for public speaking?
It is the use of hypnotherapy techniques — focused attention, guided imagery, therapeutic suggestion and structured discussion — applied to the thoughts, feelings and learned responses that arise around speaking in front of others. The aim is to support a person in developing a more comfortable relationship with speaking situations. It is not a treatment for any medical condition and no specific outcome can be guaranteed.
Can hypnotherapy help with stage fright?
Some people find hypnotherapy a useful supportive approach when working with stage fright, particularly alongside practical preparation and rehearsal. Suitability differs from person to person, and individual experiences vary. Hypnotherapy should not be presented as a cure for anxiety or as a replacement for appropriately qualified care.
What happens during a hypnotherapy session?
A session usually begins with conversation: what you find difficult, what you would like to be different, and any questions about the approach. If hypnotherapy is used, it is explained first and agreed with you. It typically involves guided attention, imagery and suggestion while you remain seated or reclined comfortably. Sessions end with time to talk about what you noticed.
Will I lose control during hypnosis?
Hypnotherapy is best understood as a collaborative process rather than something done to you. People generally remain aware of what is happening and able to speak, move or stop at any point. Ethical practice depends on your participation and consent throughout.
Can hypnotherapy guarantee that I will become a confident speaker?
No. No responsible practitioner can guarantee a specific outcome. Hypnotherapy may be helpful for suitable individuals, experiences vary, and confidence in speaking is usually built over time with a combination of support, preparation and real practice.
How many sessions will I need?
This is not fixed in advance. It depends on what you are working with, your goals and how you respond. Rather than promising a set number, progress is reviewed together as you go so that you can decide what is useful next.
Can hypnotherapy be combined with public speaking practice?
Yes, and it is usually encouraged. Therapeutic work and practical rehearsal address different parts of the same challenge — one works with the response you carry into the room, the other with what you do once you are in it. Neither replaces the other.
Is nervousness before speaking always a problem?
No. A degree of nervousness before speaking is common and can be useful, sharpening attention and raising energy. It becomes worth addressing when it is intense, persistent, begins long before the event, or leads you to avoid opportunities that matter to you.
What if I experience severe anxiety?
If anxiety is severe, persistent, or significantly disrupting your work, studies, relationships or wellbeing, please consult an appropriately qualified healthcare or mental health professional. Hypnotherapy is not a replacement for emergency care, medical treatment or qualified mental health support, and in some situations professional assessment should come first.
Is hypnotherapy suitable for everyone?
No. Suitability varies, and hypnotherapy is not appropriate in every situation or for every person. This is discussed openly at the outset, and where another form of support would be more appropriate, that will be said plainly.
Can I use hypnotherapy before an important presentation?
Some people choose to do focused work ahead of a specific event. Whether that is realistic depends on how much time is available and what you are working with. It is more honest to describe such work as preparation support than as a guaranteed fix, and last-minute expectations are best kept modest.

Still unsure?
A question is not a commitment
Ask whatever you need to ask before deciding anything. Getting in touch does not commit you to booking, and an honest "this may not be the right fit" is a perfectly possible answer.
